Set Creation Chargeback
The Set Creation chargeback is applied when product sets are not properly assembled prior to shipment. This occurs when units meant to be bundled are shipped individually rather than as a complete set. Products that include two or more units should be packaged together before they reach the fulfillment center.
-
Reason for Chargeback: Failing to bundle products according to specified set requirements results in non-compliance with shipping policies, leading to a chargeback.
-
Prevention: To prevent this chargeback, vendors should review the prep instructions in Amazon Retail Analytics Basic. Products requiring bundling will indicate “Set Creation” in instructions. Ensure all sets are correctly assembled as described, such as “Pack of” specifications in product titles.
-
Dispute Process: If a chargeback was mistakenly issued, submit a dispute with evidence showing proper packaging, such as images displaying the PO label and correct bundling. Use the Dispute a Chargeback process for resolution.
Unbundled shipments require additional labor and processing time at fulfillment centers, highlighting the importance of compliance in set creation.
