Late Delivery of Import Documents Chargeback
A Late Delivery of Import Documents Chargeback is a penalty imposed on vendors who fail to deliver required trade documents to Amazon’s origin service provider, Century Distribution Systems, Inc. (CDS), on time. Specifically, documents must be submitted within 4 days after the Estimated Vessel Departure Date for ocean freight, or by the Estimated Flight Departure Date for air freight.
Failure to comply results in a charge of €50 per document set per day for ocean freight, starting after day 4, and €150 per document set per day for air freight. Timely submission of these documents is crucial to prevent delays in transit and avoid out-of-stock issues affecting customers. Vendors can dispute a chargeback if they believe it was mistakenly applied, by providing evidence of timely submission.
